WADESBORO — The Wadesboro Police Department last week arrested a man believed to be involved in a shooting that did not result in injuries.
On March 28, 2022, officers with the Wadesboro Police Department responded to a call for service at the Anson Inn, in reference to shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located Demetrius Antwon Campbell.
Police alleged that Campbell had gotten into an altercation with an undisclosed victim and fired a single shot at the victim as he left the scene. Campbell is a convicted felon and therefore not allowed to possess a firearm.
Campbell was arrested on the scene and a firearm was recovered. He is charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Resisting a Public Officer.
Campbell’s bond was set at $27,500 secured and placed in the custody of the Anson County Jail. His court date is set for April 5, 2022.
