Three men were arrested on drug charges last month, according to the Wadesboro Police Department.
Derrick Leonard Boggan, 40, Godfrey Montez Little, 36, and Levon Junior Tillman, 27, all of Wadesboro, were arrested on drug charges following a lengthy investigation, police said. Boggan and Tillman were arrested April 27 while Little was arrested April 6.
Officers with the department’s special response team made the arrests.
“The warrants were obtained after several months of investigation involving two different residences,” the release said. “Both residences were searched and three different suspects were arrested on narcotic-related charges. Officers seized a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency from the residences.”
BOGGAN
Boggan was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of cocaine, both felonies. He allegedly had small pieces of cocaine when he was arrested, according to the arrest warrant. He was placed under a $2,5000 secured bond. A bond forfeiture notice for failure to appear in court on May 10 was issued on May 13.
A search warrant was issued for Boggan’s residence on Main Street in Wadesboro and any vehicles on the property.
According to the search warrant request by Det. J.B. Davidson, his department has had several run-ins with Boggan. Davidson said police found a gun and cocaine in his bedroom in 2010, and marijuana in a vehicle in 2011. In 2012, police found marijuana in a vehicle in Boggan’s driveway.
The investigation that led to Boggan’s most recent arrest began with a confidential source last December. The source told police that he or she had purchased cocaine from Boggan at his house. Another confidential source spoke with police in April, telling Davidson that he or she had also purchased cocaine from Boggan. Investigators were able to confirm that Boggan had cocaine on the property, according to the warrant request.
Police found a “small baggie containing several pieces of white-colored rock substance,” a razor blade, digital scales, a glass jar with “five small baggies of green leafy substance,” three $5 bills, a bag with white residue wrapped in a $1 bill, cell phones and more on the property, according to the warrant information.
According to records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Coreection, Boggan has convictions dating back to 1993 when he was convicted of a 1992 larceny case in Mecklenburg County and the use or possession of drug paraphernalia in Anson County, both misdemeanors.
In 1997, Boggan was convicted on a felony count of robbery with a dangerous weapon from an Anson County three years prior. He has been convicted of other drug charges since 2006. He was released in 2013 after serving time for possession with intent to sell Schedule II drugs and possession of a firearm by a felon.
TILLMAN
Tillman was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of a controlled substance on jail premises, both felonies.
According to a search warrant inventory, police found a miscellaneous amount of cash and bags filled with a “green leafy substance” on Tillman. While being booked into jail, officers allegedly found a small amount of marijuana in his sock.
Tillman was convicted in 2010 on a felony count of obstructing justice, misdemeanor counts of altering a serial number and carrying a concealed weapon and a charge of possessing an open container of alcohol after concuption in Anson County.
LITTLE
Little was charged with one felony count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of cocaine, as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Little allegedly had 5.5 grams of cocaine on him when he was arrested, according to his arrest warrant.
A search warrant issued for a house on Harlem Heights Road in Wadesboro was executed on April 6. In the request for the search warrant, Davidson said his department arrested Little in 2005 for cocaine charges, and that their current investigation began when the department received complaints about Little over the past year.
In March, a confidential source who has helped police before provided information about Little selling drugs, according to the search warrant request. Investigators later confirmed that Godfrey had cocaine on the property.
Investigators found bags with “off-white rock substance” and “green leafy substance,” digital scales, an unspecified amount of money, a “marijuana smoking device,” capsules, a tablet, a phone and SanDisk memory cards during the search, according to documents. They also found a “Pringles potato chip can with [a] hidden compartment located on [a] fish tank in the living room.”
Little was arrested in Morven on Jan. 14 after deputies with the Anson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for a residence on Cason Old Field Road. In the request for a search warrant, Lt. Josh Beam said a confidential source had provided information helpful to the investigation. Deputies found a pistol, ammunition, marijuana, “white” and “off-white” rocks, $35 and more during the search, according inventory.
Little has a North Carolina record beginning in 1996, when he was convicted of two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, a felony. In 2006, he was convicted of possessing Schedule II drugs, a felony, and using or possessing drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
