Candidate filing for the municipal election will begin this Friday.
Filing will open at noon Friday, July 7 and close at noon Friday, July 21.
Filers are advised to bring a valid ID, any completed campaign finance papers they have and cash for filing fees. (Cash is only accepted if the filing fee is $50 or less, according to the website of the Anson County Board of Elections).
The board posted the following tips for filing on its website:
• Those arriving at the beginning or end of the filing period may experience a wait
• Candidates must pay their filing fee when they file
• Candidates will have their eligibility confirmed before they can file
• Filing paperwork must be filled out, signed and notarized
• Once the filing process is complete, campaign finance questions can be addressed
