Four winners were named at the Wreak Havoc Horror Film Festival on Saturday.

Judges picked their selections to show at the festival out of the many that were sent from all over the world. The choices for the awards had to be narrowed down even further from that select group.

Wreak Havoc Productions, LLC, which hosted the two-day festival at the Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro during PeopleFest, named the winners on its Facebook page.

The award for Best Picture was given to “Dead Hearts,” a family-friendly short film filled with “love, loss, taxidermy, Kung fu, and biker werewolves,” according to the festival program. It showed on Saturday morning.

Jeremiah Kipp won the award for Best Director with his short terror-filled film, “Painkiller,” which was shown Saturday evening.

Suziey Block was named Best Actress for her role in “Wonder Valley,” a feature film that played Friday night. In the movie, four friends go camping in the desert in a ghost town, according to the program. The Best Actor was Nathan Tymoshuk in “My Favorite Holiday,” a short film about a Halloween-loving homeowner that was one of the first to be played after the festival opened on Friday evening.

Wreak Havoc Productions is a small Greensboro-based film production company headed by Anson native Dan Sellers. Sellers played his first short film, “Hank vs. The Undead,” at the Ansonia Theatre early this year.
