ANSON COUNTY — After hosting the first-ever pediatric COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Anson County in December, the New Rural Project returns to the HOLLA! Center with Atrium Health administering shots to children and adults.

New Rural Project (NRP) will hold their third COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at the HOLLA! Center (229 E. Main St. Morven) in Morven on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Pfizer vaccinations will be administered by Atrium Health to anyone needing a vaccine ages five and older.

Gift cards ranging from $25 to $50 are available for everyone 12 years old and older receiving a vaccination. One $25 Food Lion gift card per family is available for parents or legal guardians bringing 5 – 11-year-olds for vaccines. Triad Barber School is once again offering free haircuts.

“The Holla! Center knows that partnering with organizations like the New Rural Project and bringing the community together is how we will move forward through the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Leon Gatewood, CEO of Holla!.

NRP has been working in Anson County since November to assist residents in receiving their COVID-19 vaccination, as well as providing food and other services in conjunction with their partner organizations. Door knocking and having meaningful conversations about the importance of being vaccinated prior to the vaccine events has enabled NRP and their local volunteers to meet many residents, listen to them, and encourage them to come to the community event.

NRP is grateful for the work of their local partner organizations in Anson County – HOLLA! Center, Equality NC, Alpha Pi Chi, Triad Barber School, Las Amigas, NAUW, You Can Vote, and Anson Partnership for Children.

With the Omicron variant dramatically increasing the spread of COVID-19, a great way to start the year is to increase the vaccination rates so our community can be protected.
