WADESBORO — Ms. Joy Drake has been named the Chief Finance Officer for Anson County Schools.
Drake began her career in the Anson County School District in March 2004. She has served as the district’s Interim Finance Officer since October 2021. She also served as Payroll Supervisor for six years and Human Resources Supervisor for eight years. In 1999, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Wingate University.
“Ms. Drake brings a wealth of financial knowledge to this position. She has proven herself in her current role and is a well-respected and trusted member of our leadership team. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and loyal person with the background and experience necessary to fill this important position,” Superintendent Howard McLean said.
“I am excited for this new opportunity and I look forward to working with the administration to reach our district goals in making the Anson County School District the best it can possibly be,” Drake stated.
Drake officially began her new role on March 1.
Anne Hyatt is the Public Information Officer, Clerk to the Board of Education, and Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for Anson County Schools.
