West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, its pastor, Terry Little, supporter Anson County Sheriff Landric Reid and women of the church recently held a countywide women’s conference for the married, single, separated, divorced and widowed.

More than 250 women attended from Anson County and beyond. Organizers said participants of all racial and ethnic backgrounds were in attendance.

The Rev. Carolyn Bennett taught about Naomi and Ruth and the Rev. Judy Little came with sermon topic “Naomi, Ruth and Orpah” and subtopic “Knowledge, Technology — No Knowledge; Know Him.”

After the benediction, all women received a balloon and exited the sanctuary to release their prayer requests to the Lord.

Volunteers from Anson County health and wellness, domestic violence and ministry agencies awaited the women and organizers provided a dine-in or take-out lunch.

The church is located at 4557 Deep Creek Road, Wadesboro.
