The Wadesboro Police Department has made several drug- and gun-related arrests in the past month.

Feb. 4

On Feb. 4, officers arrested three men during a traffic stop.

James Malcolm Cohen, 21, Tireera Eugene Marsh, 20, and Demitri Montraze Little, 21, were each charged with one count of possession of cocaine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (both felonies), according to a release from the department.

Cohen and Little were also each charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to half an ounce.

Marsh was also charged with one count of misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Both he and Little also face a charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

All three men were from Morven and each booked in the Anson County Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.

Feb. 19

Another traffic stop yielded three arrests on Feb. 19.

Mario Andre Washington, 22, of Wadesboro, LaJames Jawand Buchanon, 23, also of Wadesboro, and Nichlaus Davis Thompson, 18, of Lilesville, were all arrested.

All three were charged with one count each of felony possession of marijuana and one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Washington was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and Thompson was also charged with one misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer.

All were arrested and booked in the Anson County Jail. Washington was placed under a $2,500 secured bond, Buchanon under a $1,000 secured bond and Thompson under a $1,500 secured bond.

Feb. 26

While patrolling near Summit Street in Wadesboro, officers saw several men on the street and “detected a strong odor of marijuana,” according to the department release.

A group of three was also arrested in this case.

Scotty Jayhaun Hammond, 22, of Polkton, Divine Lindsay, 20, of Polkton and Adriann Wall, 22, of Wadesboro were all arrested.

Hammond was charged with one count of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. Lindsay was charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, both misdemeanors. Wall was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possessing and concealing weapons, both misdemeanors.

All three were arrested and booked in the Anson County Jail. Hammond was placed under a $1,000 secured bond and Lindsay and Wall each under $500 secured bonds.

Feb. 28

When the department learned that there may have been “drug activity” in a vehicle going east, officers went to investigate and arrested another group of three men, according to the release.

Travis Jermaine Barringer, 35, Jerry Ratliff, 34, and Duncan Borden, 35, all of Wadesboro, were all arrested on drug charges.

Each man was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, one felony count of possession of marijuana and one misdemeanor count of possessing drug paraphernalia.

All three were placed in the Anson County Jail under $2,000 secured bonds.

March 3

Terrance Briant Horne, 33, of Wadesboro, was arrested during a traffic stop.

He was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and one count of felony possession of marijuana, both felonies, and one misdemeanor count of driving with his license revoked, according to the release.

Horne was booked in the Anson County Jail under a $26,000 secured bond.

March 4

Gregory Leo Sturdivant Jr., 35, of Wadesboro was charged with one count of felony possession of cocaine and one count of misdemeanor marijuana of up to half an ounce.

Sturdivant was booked in the Anson County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond.

March 5

Two men were arrested during a traffic stop on multiple charges, according to the release.

Corderius Markelle Caraway, 25, of Wadesboro was charged with one misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed gun.

Devon Montell Smith, 21, of Wadesboro was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and failure to appear for a criminal summons/citation, both misdemeanors, and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.

Both were booked in the Anson County Jail, Caraway under a $500 secured bond and Smith under a $2,000 secured bond.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
