Members of the 2019 Anson County Law Enforcement Citizen Academy met for their first class on Thursday at the Anson County Sheriff’s Office.

During the class, members learned about the history of the sheriff and were given a tour of the Sheriff’s Office and the courthouse.

During the next seven weeks class members will hear from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The class is interactive, combining classroom lecture with hands-on training.

“The Citizen Academy offers a great opportunity for citizens to learn about the different aspects of federal, state and local law enforcement,” said Sheriff Landric Reid. “The overall goal of the academy is to establish a relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens we serve.”
