NETC to Hold Blood Drive

Northeastern Technical College (NETC) Student Government Association will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cheraw campus.

Walk-in donations will be accepted, but eligible individuals are encouraged to schedule an appointment. Visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code “NETech” or call 1-800-REDCROSS (7332767). After completing a health history questionnaire online, a RapidPass will be issued to help speed up the donation process. RapidPass applications can be completed on mobile devices and through the Blood Donor App.

The Red Cross works to ensure that the blood and platelet donation process is as safe as possible for donors and patients in need. There are some requirements donors must meet to be eligible to donate blood to ensure the safety of both patients and donors.

Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger must meet certain height and weight requirements.

Donors can further help by inviting friends, family members, or co-workers to donate.
