Dear Editor,

I recently had the honor and pleasure of being a guest author at the Carolinas Writers Conference at Wadesboro — my third appearance there over the years. I want to thank the Anson County Writers Club for being such wonderful sponsors of this conference, and the people of the Wadesboro community for their warm hospitality.

The Carolinas Writers Conference is an important event for, unlike many other conferences, it intentionally makes available to average folks the knowledge and confidence in the literary arts they need to complete their project. These are the people with stories to tell, and now they have more of the skills needed to do so. All of which is as it should be, of course, for Carolinians have long been known for their love of books and those who write them.

I wish Wadesboro, Anson County and the Carolinas Writers Conference the very best of good fortune in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Robert N. Macomber
