Wadesboro police arrested two individuals Thursday morning after finding a meth lab at Anson Inn.
Police arrested Brandi Lorraine Kittredge, 35, of Polkton and Justin Dutch Germany, 21, a Wadesboro man, after receiving reports that the two were engaged in drug activity, according to an email from Chief Thedis Spencer. Arrest warrants list Germany as homeless and living in Wadesboro, though Spencer said he lives on N.C. Highway 109 North in Wadesboro.
Authorities arrived at the inn at 6:15 a.m. and found Kittredge and Germany in the back of a car with drug paraphernalia, unidentified pills, and a one-pot meth lab, Thedis said. Their hotel room was allegedly full of heavy chemical fumes.
Both were arrested at about 10 a.m., according to arrest warrants.
Since the inn is located right off of U.S. Route 74 across from Bojangles, traffic was slowed as police made the arrests and cleaned the site.
The WPD called in the town fire department, Anson County Emergency Management, the NC State Bureau of Investigations, and the Anson County Health Department. “The Anson Inn was evaluated and close (sic) down approximately 7 hours reference clean-up,” Spencer said via email.
Both were charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine and felony possession of a Schedule II methamphetamine and are being held in the Anson County Jail under $75,000 secured bonds. Other charges are pending, according to Spencer.
