WADESBORO — At 1:41 a.m., Deputy Gregory Cox spoke with a victim of financial fraud totaling $995. The victim believed to know the suspect, as the person had previously resided with the victim and had access to the victim’s banking cards during that time period. The victim reported to Deputy Cox the stolen money was transferred to an account under the suspect’s name. Case closed by other means.
WADESBORO At 8:12 a.m., Deputy Louis Galvan spoke with a female who called dispatch to report her sister missing from her walk to the Food Lion. Taking too long to come home, the frantic sister called law enforcement. Investigating, Deputy Galvan quickly located the sister safe and sound. He phoned the reporting victim to notify her that her sister was safe. Case closed by other means.
POLKTON — At 1:41 p.m., Deputy Luis Galvan reported to a residence on Johnson Rd. in response to a report of a suspect refusing to leave the home. When Deputy Galvan arrived on scene, he found two males. One male identified himself as Quantrezs “Quay” Hall. Mr. Hall claimed that he and the other male were ex-lovers. Hall was visiting with his ex-boyfriend because he had promised to go to Rockingham and purchase weed for him. Jonesing and determined, Hall stood his ground and refused to leave until his weed was procured. When the ex-boyfriend continued to refuse his demand, the two gentlemen got into fisticuffs, which ended when Hall allegedly scratched the other man’s hand, physically assaulting him. As the victim wished to press charges against Hall, Deputy Galvan gave him a ride to the Magistrate’s Office, where Magistrate Weaver found probable cause to issue Hall a warrant for simple assault. Hall is under a $1,000 unsecured bond.
LILESVILLE — At 8:40 p.m., Deputy Wylder Kuhn arrived at a residence on Haileys Ferry Rd. following a report of a stolen black in color, Glock 19 Gen 3 firearm, valued at $500. The victim reported the gun stolen from his work truck. He noticed it missing while searching the vehicle for another item. Later, after Deputy Kuhn took the victim’s report, the victim called to inform him that he located his gun in the drive. The case is active.

ANSON — At 11:39 a.m., Sgt. Ryan Melton arrived at the Magistrate’s Office to speak with a Mr. Jimmy Streater regarding a party that had gotten out of hand the night before. While at a gathering at his son’s home, Mr. Streater politely asked another guest, Mr. Kenny Maye, if he could partake in his liquor. Maye refused and told Mr. Streater to get his own, before allegedly slapping Mr. Streater violently across his face. Not saying anything about it during the gathering, so as not to upset other guests, Mr. Streater went home and stewed on the altercation. The more he thought about Mr. Maye’s claimed disrespect, the madder he got, until finally he decided to go down to the Magistrate’s Office and press charges against Maye. Case closed by other means.
WADESBORO — At 12:01 p.m., Deputy Jacky King spoke with a caller reporting a neighbor who was spending their day throwing adult diapers along the roadway. Previously reported for the same offense, the diaper dumpers have since resorted to dumping their soiled briefs on the opposite side of the road, resulting in Deputy King being called out on August 17. Investigating the incident, Deputy King spoke with the accused, who told him that while they were aware of the issue, they had no idea who could be responsible. Case is active.
WADESBORO — At 1:49 p.m., Deputy Amiracle Leak received a call from a female victim reporting that when she arrived home from a day of shopping, she noticed her screen door was off its hinges, falling on her when she attempted to pull it open. She also saw that someone had tampered with the door locks as though they had tried to break into her home. The victim stated to Deputy Leak that she felt it might be her son committing the vandalism at her residence as she had recently refused to allow him to stay with her. Case is active.

WADESBORO — At 10:18 a.m., Deputy Luis Galvan spoke with a victim by phone who called to report his grandfather’s storage building was broken into. The victim described seeing tools scattered around the building as well as observing that many of the tools were missing. Case is active.
WADESBORO — At 1:19 p.m., Deputy Luis Galvan arrived at Grace Ln. where he met a broken-hearted mother who told him a tale of a missing husband, and stolen money, phone, and a car. Prior to meeting with the female victim, Deputy Galvan spoke with a gentleman stranded in the hospital and needing to speak with his wife. Unable to reach her for days, he asked Deputy Galvan to check on her. Arriving at the residence, Deputy Galvan reunited the couple by phone. His work not ended, Deputy Galvan then heard from the wife how her son Jonathan allegedly stole $1,800 in cash, a Verizon smartphone, and her vehicle, valued at $30,000. She allowed her son to use her car and phone to take her husband to the doctor. After dropping his father off at the hospital, Jonathan apparently fled with his mother’s cash, car, and phone. Case is active.
ANSON COUNTY JAIL — At 6:46 p.m., a warrant related to charges stemming from crimes committed in Union County was served on Clifton Lee, who was taken into custody without incident.
ANSONVILLE — At 8:05 p.m., Deputy Wylder Kuhn responded to a residence on Wilhoit St. in reference to an earlier breaking and entering. When Deputy Kuhn arrived to investigate, he spoke with the reporting victim, who had just returned home from a cruise to find his residence ransacked, but nothing missing. As Deputy Kuhn photographed the damage, he learned a call came into dispatch from another homeowner arriving home to a rearranged house on Maynard Ave. Hearing the address, the victim of the break in on Wilhoit St. stated the other home was that of his sister. After calling his sister, whom he had been on the cruise with, he learned that she was dealing with the same issue as him; someone broke into and vandalized her home, but did not take anything. Case is active.

MORVEN — At 10:35 a.m., deputies arrived at a residence on Short Town Rd. in response to a report of stolen jewelry. The suspect noticed the items missing when she went to put them on. Shortly after, the victim received a text message from an ex-boyfriend, who used to have a key to her residence, stating that she believed he stole her jewelry. Case is active.
