Meatballs the Pug is challenging all animals to a pet costume and talent contest at the Fall Festival starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 on the Uptown Wadesboro square. The event’s purpose is to help the Anson County Animal Shelter by fundraising and helping find forever homes for shelter animals.

“After becoming a runner-up last year, Meatballs has been training hard for this year’s contest,” said Wadesboro Town Manager Alex Sewell. “Dog, cat, llama, or whatever…I encourage all pets to come challenge Meatballs. Just please no exotic or dangerous animals.”

To participate, email Sewell at wadesboromanager@windstream.net or call Wadesboro Town Hall at 704-694-5171. Handlers should be present about 15 minutes early prior to the contest beginning. Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
