A toddler earned her tiara following a competition earlier this year.

Alana S. Mitchell, 2, of Wadesboro represented Wadesboro and Anson County in the Miss American Royalty USA (MAR- USA) state competition June 9-11 in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. She was crowned MAR-USA Toddler N.C. Duchess, according to her mother, Shanika Rue, also a resident of Wadesboro.

Alana has qualified to compete in the MAR-USA National Competition in Gatlinburg, Tennessee from Aug. 4-6, where she will compete to represent the state of North Carolina, according to Rue.

“Alana will continue this journey, representing her hometown of Wadesboro very well!” Rue said via email.
