WADESBORO — The Hampton B. Allen Library is moving forward with reopening its doors, and will continue to follow state guidelines relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On April 15, the library started letting patrons into the building. There will only be 8 people allowed into the building at any given time. Each person will be allowed one hour in the library, along with one hour of computer use each day.

Temperatures will be taken upon entry and everyone is required to wear a mask the entire time, covering both your nose and mouth.

Instead of browsing through the stacks, the staff will retrieve materials for you.

If you do not want to come into the building, curbside service is still available. Virtual programming will also continue on the library’s social media pages.

The library will not offer in-person programs, meeting room use, book donations, book sales and bookmobile service at this time.

Hampton B. Allen Library will be open to the public Monday through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then again at 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
