A man is facing meth and drug paraphernalia charges following an early Friday arrest.
David Scott White, 30, and Audrey Cochran, 23, were initially arrested on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Prosecutors dismissed the meth possession charge against Cochran on Monday, according to Anson County Clerk of Superior Court records. She pleaded guilty to the paraphernalia charge.
White’s charges from the Friday arrest are still pending. He faces an additional charge of violating the terms of his parole.
Records show White was released from prison Sept. 30, 2015 after serving 3 months, 25 days on Union County convictions of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor conveyance.
White was convicted of the charges in October 2011 and received a suspended 1 year, 5-month sentence sentence, which he began serving in 2015 after his probation was revoked, according to the N.C. Division of Adult Correction.
White has previously served probation on drug possession, attempted misdemeanor breaking and entering, attempted misdemeanor larceny and drug paraphernalia convictions in Union County.
He was booked into the Anson County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
White is scheduled to appear in court on the charges Jan. 19.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
