Anson County Partnership for Children board members showed their support for young children by reading in pre-kindergarten classrooms throughout the county last week during the Week of the Young Child.
The readers selected a book and additional materials from the Partnership’s Early Childhood Resource Center on the theme the classrooms were studying.
Anson County Manager Megan Garner, a Partnership board member, read to kids at the Open Doors Center for Children.
“The children of Open Doors were a true joy to be around, and I appreciate our story time together,” Garner said.
Anson County Partnership for Children staff thanked the board members for their support of the Week of the Young Child initiative.
The Partnership is a nonprofit public-private organization formed in 1996 in response to the North Carolina Smart Start initiative. Its mission is “helping to make Anson County a better place to be a child and to raise a child.”
