Two men were arrested on drug charges after traffic stops in Wadesboro over the past two weeks.
Around 11 p.m. July 13, Wadesboro police officers made a traffic stop for an expired tag westbound on East Caswell Street that police say resulted in the seizure of 3.8 ounces of marijuana and eight 30-miligram THC capsules.
Danny Jasper Robertson, 44, of Mint Hill, was arrested and charged with one count each of felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance.
He was booked into the Anson County Jail under a $101,000 secured bond.
Around 10:21 a.m. July 18, officers stopped a man for speeding on U.S. Highway 74 East near the intersection of U.S. 52 South. After making the traffic stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
An Anson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 handler was on the scene and after his K-9 alerted on the vehicle, a complete search was conducted. Officers said they seized 5 grams of methamphetamine, .05 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Jack Williams Morris, 49, of Wadesboro, was arrested and charged with one count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine, possessing or distributing a meth precursor, possession of up to one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Morris was booked into the Anson County Jail under a $93,000 secured bond.
