Young Professionals Anson has donated $1,500 to Anson County Schools from funds raised during their spring raffle.
“The donation will specifically be allocated towards clothing for students in need, and we polled our membership for suggestions of areas to donate our funds raised and the largest interest was to help the children in our county,” said YP Anson Chairwoman Ashley Scarborough. “After much thought, we decided to donate directly to Anson County Schools.”
Michael Freeman, superintendent of Anson County Schools, met with members of YP Anson and received the check on October 2.
“On behalf of all students attending Anson County Schools I want to thank YP Anson for this generous donation that will be used to meet personal clothing needs of many children,” Freeman said.
Freeman added that Anson County Schools is very fortunate to have great supporters like YP Anson to support them through volunteering and monetary contributions.
“Your support makes a difference for many children who need advocates working on their behalf,” he said.
“Many thanks to all that supported our spring raffle! Because of your contributions, YP Anson was able to make an impact in our county,” Scarborough said.
