Saturation effort leads to 44 charges

Wadesboro police and several assisting agencies saturated the area May 6, with 44 charges filed.

Sgt. Chad Haywood, coordinator in Anson County for the Governor’s Highway Safety program, the joint effort was aimed at ensuring safe travel through Anson County by reducing traffic violations.

Participating lawmen were from the Anson County Sheriff’s Office, Polkton Police Department, Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, Norwood Police Department and the North Czarolina BAT Mobile, a unit for breath alcohol testing.

Lawmen said the charges filed included violations for speeding, seat belts, operator’s licenses, driving with revoked licenses, registration, lack of insurance, drugs and weapons.
