WADESBORO — Two men have been jailed on child sex crime charges in Anson County.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested 55-year-old Leonard Belton on charges of first-degree rape of a child, first-degree sex offense with a child and taking indecent liberties with a child Monday afternoon.
Two days prior, 49-year-old Ricky Lee Love was arrested Saturday night on charges of second-degree rape and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Neither man has a history of criminal convictions resulting in prison time or probation, according to the N.C. Division of Adult Correction.
Belton was booked into the Anson County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 13. Love is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and has an Oct. 6 court date, according to jail records.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
