WADESBORO — According to Wadesboro Police, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the July 24 shooting at the Oak Hill Apartment Complex that injured a Wadesboro man. The Oak Hill Apartment Complex is located at 1355 North Green St.

Responding to the scene at approximately 10:55 a.m., officers discovered a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Transported from the scene to Atrium Main Hospital in Charlotte, the victim remains in the ICU.

Following the shooting, the Wadesboro Police Department worked in conjunction with the NC State Bureau of Investigation to identify 22-year old Joshua Lamont Hamilton of Rockingham as a suspect in the shooting.

Less than thirty hours after receiving notification, warrants were obtained for Hamilton’s arrest. He is currently charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.

Tuesday morning, SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) apprehended Hamilton, where he remains in custody until he can be extradited back to Anson County.
