The annual Cub Scout Pinewood Derby was held on Saturday, March 10 at the Fireman’s Training Center in Wadesboro.
The Derby, sponsored by C&M Auto Supply, allowed Cub Scouts from the Pee Dee District (Anson and Richmond counties) to build their own unique wooden cars from a kit and race against their peers.
The benefits, for Cub Scouts and their adult partners, are discovered through the derby process itself: strengthening bonds, sharing responsibility, developing teamwork, learning new skills, exercising creativity, building sportsmanship, and making new friends.
The racemaster was Kenny Brower, and the assistant racemaster was Tommy Burr.
