WADESBORO — During their regular meeting on Feb. 28, the Board of Education recognized students and teams for their achievements in the winter.
The board recognized the Anson Middle School Girls Basketball Team and the Anson Middle School Boys Basketball Team for advancing to the 2nd round of the Southeastern Middle School Basketball Conference Playoffs.
Additionally, the following students were recognized for athletic achievements and individual honors during the winter athletic season:
District Spelling Bee

• Walker Stinson – placed runner-up in the 195 lb. weight class at the Southeastern Middle School Conference Wrestling Tournament Championship
• Jazon McNeil – placed 1st in the 106 lb. weight class at the Southeastern Middle School Conference Wrestling Tournament Championship
• Jackson Stinson – placed 1st in the 120 lb. weight class at the Southeastern Middle School Conference Wrestling Tournament Championship
