Ms. Jacqueline Gainey has been selected as Kesler Chapel’s 2020 Woman of the Year. Each year, the church recognizes a woman who has shown outstanding commitment, faithfulness, and selfless devotion to her church.
Kesler Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church will hold its annual Woman of the Year program on Sunday, March 15, 2020, during the morning service which begins at 10 a. m. Minister Christine Hall will bring the morning message. The theme for this year’s program is, “Godly Women Listening to God in a Fast-Moving World.”
Ms. Gainey was born April 6, 1968 in Chesterfield, South Carolina. She is the older of two children of Myrtle Gainey and the late James Hubert Gainey, Jr. Jennifer Gainey-Raynor of Hope Mills, North Carolina is her sibling. Ms. Gainey’s children are Jason Gainey, Kimberly Ratliff, Morris Knotts, Jr., and Alexis Gainey. She has seven grandchildren and one nephew.
Ms. Gainey attended Bowman Senior High School in Wadesboro, North Carolina. She was employed by many poultry plants over the years. She relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina to work with the visually impaired for five years and returned home to take care of her elderly father until his passing.
Ms. Gainey is an active member of Kesler Chapel. She has been a dedicated member of the Kesler Chapel AME Zion Choir since she was a small child and has served as choir director for several years. Faithfully, she attends Bible Study and Church School. Ms. Gainey is a member of the Stewardess Board and Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society.
Ms. Gainey’s hobbies are singing, interior decorating, and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
