POLKTON — At 12:12 a.m. Dispatch received a call from a female reporting that her sister’s unemployed boyfriend jumped on her sister before running away to his momma’s house with her phone, tablet, and pocketbook. Arriving at the scene, Deputy Cory Howard observed bruising and swelling in several areas on the female victim’s face. The victim was transported to and treated by staff at Atrium Anson. Once released from medical care, the victim appeared before the magistrate who issued a restraining order against Timothy Alexander. The alleged abuser was later apprehended by Sgt. Kelly and Deputy Howard, who took Alexander into custody without incident.

MORVEN — At 5:15 p.m., Deputy Taylor White was on duty at the Sheriff’s Office when a mother and son came in to report the mother’s boyfriend had stolen their four-wheeler and utility trailer. Worried at first, the pair searched the property and along the roadway for signs of an accident. Following a Facebook post regarding the wayward boyfriend, tips flooded in from users in the Rockingham area, who reported seeing the described four wheeler and trailer as well as the boyfriend at a gas station with a gas jug. The case is active.
LILESVILLE — At 2:33 a.m., Sam Mullis received notice that a male subject was causing damage at a residence on W. Wall St. When Mullis arrived at the home, he observed a female standing in the doorway. Using her arm as a physical barrier, she was refusing to allow the male subject to enter the residence. The female informed Deputy Mullis that the male was dating her daughter and the couple had gotten into a verbal argument that resulted in her, the mother, having been bitten by the male. While Deputy Mullis observed the mother’s wound, which was consistent with a bite mark in Mullis’ estimation, the young man was allowed to collect his belonging from the home. Suddenly, Deputy Mullis heard a commotion from the daughter’s bedroom. Rushing in to the room, Mullis discovered both the male and female on the ground. The male subject had an obvious laceration on his left eye and claimed he had been attacked by his girlfriend. With the mother of the girlfriend now wishing to press charges for her allegedly snacked on hand, the couple were taken into custody and transported to the Magistrate’s Office. Charges were taken out on Jordan Everette for assaulting Tristan Byrums’ eye and charges were also taken out on Tristan Byrum for biting Sherneka Everette’s hand. Case is closed by arrest.
WADESBORO — At 9:26 a.m., dispatch received a call that a young lady was stabbed in the head. Noting a disturbance in the background, dispatch heard that the victim was pulled over in a jeep with her father and waiting for law enforcement and EMS to arrive. Sgt. Kobersy found the victim visibly shaken in the backseat. The victim showed Sgt. Kobersy where she had about an inch long cut on the backside of her head. She explained that when she had stopped to visit her baby daddy, she found him in bed with another female. She tapped him on the shoulder to wake him up. That is when the other female awakened, began arguing with the victim, and then allegedly took a kitchen knife and stabbed the baby momma in the head. The gentleman involved in the love triangle did not believe a knife was used, instead theorizing his baby momma may have sustained the injury when her head was shoved through a bedroom window, breaking the glass. The case is active.
WADESBORO — At 12:30 p.m., Deputy Taylor White arrived at a residence on Old Ruby SC Rd. following a call made to dispatch reporting a damaged computer and stolen money. The female victim informed Deputy White that she had been staying with her boyfriend for a few days. Arguing more than they got along, the female requested a ride home from her boyfriend’s stepdad. As the boyfriend had insisted upon tagging along, the female stated she had told him she wanted to break up when they arrived at her home. Becoming enraged, the boyfriend punched her computer, damaging the screen. Once safely inside her home, she determined her laptop would no longer turn on and was busted on the bottom. Having paid the stepfather and boyfriend money through a cash app, the female also wanted to press charges for her stolen money, as the two refused to return it to her. The case is active.
POLKTON — At 3:39 p.m., Sgt. Kobersy located a stolen Hyundai Genesis G70, seen on the FLOCK camera system traveling on US 74 towards Wadesboro. Pulling over the vehicle, Sgt. Kobersy learned it was indeed reported stolen on June 12 by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. While speaking with the driver, Sgt. Kobersy noticed the pungent odor of marijuana wafting from the vehicle. When questioned, the driver admitted to having a small amount of the herb in his possession. Following a search of the stolen vehicle, Sgt. Kobersy located a small bag containing a green leafy substance under the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Hearing Sgt. Kobersy’s testimony, Magistrate Ballard found probable cause to issue a warrant for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Simple Possession of Schedule VI. The suspect, Julian Rankin, was placed in the Anson County Jail under a $4,000 bond. Case closed by arrest.

WADESBORO — At 7:42 a.m., Deputy Taylor White arrived at a residence on Firetower Road following a report of a busted car window. The victim stated he noticed the damage to his 2006 Pontiac Vibe when he went outside to leave for church. He stated nothing appeared missing and his firearm was still in the armrest. The owner stated the car was unlocked at the time of the incident. The case is active.
MORVEN — At 1:27 p.m., Sgt. Mario Kobersy responded to a residence on Sandy Ridge Church Road following a report of a vandalized vehicle. The victim informed Sgt. Kobersy that when he returned home from church he noticed his driver’s side door ajar and back driver’s side window busted. The victim stated he always leaves his vehicles locked since having a battery stolen from his truck about a year ago. Searching the vehicle, Sgt. Kobersy discovered shards of glass around the vehicle and the plastic around the ignition mechanism tampered with, appearing as though someone attempted to start the vehicle. There appeared to be nothing missing from the vehicle, though when the driver attempted to start the vehicle using his key, he could not, due to the damage done to the ignition. The case is active.
MORVEN — At 9:48 p.m., Deputy Sam Mullis responded to a residence on Adams Rd. following a report of a domestic dispute unfolding between mother and daughter. Arriving at the scene, Deputy Mullis found several individuals in the living room of the home arguing. Immediately directed to the master bedroom bathroom, Deputy Mullis discovered a female lying on the floor. Though advised the female had been assaulted and was heavily intoxicated, Mullis was unable to observe any obvious cause of injury. When he attempted to question the female, she was only able to mumble her responses. Returning to the fracas underway in the living room, Deputy Mullis attempted to ascertain what had occurred while struggling to keep the allegedly inebriated combatants separated. Suddenly another female, having gone to check on the allegedly intoxicated victim in the bathroom, returned to the living room and informed Deputy Mullis that the female was now unresponsive. Checking on the female and finding no pulse, Deputy Mullis leaped into action, gently laying the female on her back and immediately beginning CPR. Newly arriving, Sgt. Melton assisted Deputy Mullis in conducting CPR until EMS arrived. Once EMS arrived on scene, deputies continued to assist EMS with life-saving measures, but to no avail. The victim was transferred to Atrium Health where she was declared deceased. As the victim has no known medical conditions that might have contributed to her demise, a detective has been assigned to further investigate her suspicious death. Case is active.

WADESBORO — At 10:19 a.m., a call came into dispatch regarding a hunting accident involving a child. When Deputy Jacky King arrived on scene, he learned from the minor victim and his mother that the incident occurred at 8:45 a.m. at a sheep farm located on Allen Pond Rd. The victim stated that he and his father were dove hunting when his father took a shot at a low-flying bird, resulting in him inadvertently being shot with pellets from a 20 gauge shotgun. Deputy King observed wounds to the victim’s face, torso and thigh. The victim was transported to Levine’s Children Hospital. Case is active.
ANSONVILLE — At 3:01 p.m., Deputy Cory Howard responded to a home on Park Dr. following a report that someone had stolen a firearm out of an unlocked vehicle. The victim reported that her vehicle does not lock, but she keeps her firearm inside of a lockbox located in the vehicle. The make and model of the firearm is currently unknown, value is reported to be $300. The case is active.
POLKTON — At 3:25 p.m., Cory Howard responded to Misty Rd. following a report that a female had punched a male in the face. Arriving at the scene, Deputy Howard found everyone involved outside in front of the home, still arguing. Separating the pair involved in the fisticuffs, Deputy Howard observed the assaulted male had a swollen left eye. The aggressor, Shauneice Harris admitted to punching the male, though she stated he had kicked her. Deputy Howard placed Harris in custody and took her before the magistrate who decided to place her in the Anson County Jail under a 48-hour hold. Case closed by arrest.
