Kesler Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church recently named Frances Davis as its 2018 Woman of the Year.

Davis was selected by the women of Kesler Chapel to receive this special honor in recognition of her commitment, faithfulness, and selfless devotion to her church.

The church held its Woman of the Year program on March 11 during the morning service. The theme for this year’s program was “Women with a Godly Purpose.”

Davis was born on July 15, 1956 in Anson County. She is the youngest daughter of the late Henry and Johnsie Hubbard.

Her siblings are Helen (deceased), Sara, Ella, Marge, Emma, Orlene, Milton, and Henry Thomas.

She has two children, Wakisha Davis of Charlotte and Enrico Davis of South Carolina; and two grandchildren, Patience and Chintzy of Killeen, Texas.

Davis is a 1974 graduate of Bowman High School in Wadesboro. She continued her education in commercial art at Anson Technical Institute in Ansonville.

Davis has been employed with Anson and Union counties.

Davis is an active member at Kesler Chapel. She is a member of the Stewardess Board, Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society, and the Relay for Life Committee.

Davis’ hobbies are cooking, fishing, gardening, sewing, and loving on her family and friends.
