WADESBORO — Upon a traffic stop, a North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper found a corpse on Dec. 4.
The trooper pulled over a car on U.S. 74. The driver informed the trooper that he thought he observed a vehicle in a ravine further back on the highway.
When he pulled up the car and investigated, he found the body.
“We still have not yet identified those remains in the vehicle,” a representative said. “At this time we don’t really have anything further to release.”
The department is waiting to hear back on the identification of the body. They are unsure at this time how long the car and body have been in the ravine, but it is believe it happened over the summer.
A trooper from Highway Patrol said this could be related to a report of a missing Charlotte man, but this has not yet been confirmed.
