PEACHLAND — Brian Nicholson wanted to do something that helped the community and the town of Peachland, as well as his family, and he did just that when he opened 1 Stop Shop last month.

After moving from Charlotte and falling in love with Peachland, Nicholson wanted to create a comfortable space where residents and their families could come shop and socialize.

“I want to give everyone in Peachland a place to come and get their essentials and not have to go to Polkton or Marshville to get a bag or chips or soda. We’re building one step at a time,” he said.

1 Stop Shop is the only store for essentials in Peachland.

“It’s been a process but it’s been great,” Nicholson said. “The town has been very supportive, and the town is getting comfortable with the personality and clean look of the place.”

Nicholson also wants to incorporate local businesses and products in the store inventory. Products he wishes to include are fresh eggs, meat, and produce, as well as local art on his chalkboard sign.

“It’s a beautiful thing getting to know the community,” he added. “I love this community and I’m very excited that I decided to move down here.”

1 Stop Shop is located at 54 Clinton Avenue.
