Several teenagers and an adult have been arrested in recent weeks after police say they shot into homes and committed robbery on New Year’s Eve.

Police arrested Patrick Taylor, 18, of Wadesboro, Jonathan Hinson, 24, of Wadesboro, Johnathan Bennett, 17, of Wadesboro, Diquan Davis, 17, of Ansonville, Dewon Hailey, 18, of Wadesboro and Qutaquavia Simone Sturdivant, 18, of Wadesboro.

Taylor was arrested Jan. 20 and charged with trying to kill Brandy Nicole Heistland on Dec. 31.

Taylor allegedly shot a black Ruger 9mm handgun into Heistand’s home in Ansonville, according to the warrant for his arrest, which states officials believe the teen did so with the intention of killing Heistand.

Taylor also allegedly shot into the home of James Webb in Lilesville while the victim was still inside, according to the warrant, as well as threatening the life of and robbing victim David Horne.

The teen is also accused of stealing two televisions and other property from a home in Wadesboro.

Taylor is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, all felonies. He is also charged with misdemeanor injury to personal property.

Court records list no pending charges against Taylor. He appeared in court on Jan. 26 and is being held in the Anson County Jail under a combined $530,500 secured bond.

Taylor received a sentence of three years’ probation on Jan. 23, 2015 after being convicted of felony breaking and entering assault with a deadly weapon in March 2014 and of felony breaking and entering and carrying a concealed weapon in May 2014.

HINSON

Hinson was allegedly involved shooting into Webb’s house, robbing Horne and attempting to kill Heistand, according to arrest warrants.

He was charged with two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted first degree murder.

He is being held in the Anson County Jail under a combined $625,000 secured bond. He appeared in court on Jan. 25 and his next appearance is set for Feb. 22.

Hinson has no prior criminal history in North Carolina.

DAVIS

Davis was arrested Jan. 20 and charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, all felonies.

Davis also allegedly participated in the robbery of Horne.

He was released from the Anson County Jail the same day after posting a $500,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 2.

Davis has no history of North Carolina criminal convictions.

BENNETT

Bennett was arrested Jan. 19 and also charged with robbing Horne. He allegedly threatened Horne with a black Ruger 9mm handgun.

He was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and booked into the Anson County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond. He was released after posting bond the same day and appeared in court on Jan. 25.

Bennett has no prior convictions in North Carolina.

HAILEY

Hailey was arrested Jan. 20. He was also accused of breaking into the home in Wadesboro and stealing two televisions and other items from one victim on Dec. 30.

He allegedly participated in the robbery of Horne using a 9mm handgun on Dec. 31, looking for money, and in the attempted murder of Heistand, according to the warrants.

Also on Dec. 31, Hailey allegedly fired a black Ruger 9 mm handgun into the home in Lilesville while the victim was still inside. He is charged with breaking a door frame of a building in Morven and stealing $522 and a gold necklace, bracelets, Kobe shoes and Timberland boots worth $100 each from the building.

Hailey is also accused of the attempted murder of Heistand on Dec. 31.

He is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and attempted first-degree murder, all felonies. He is also charged with misdemeanor causing injury to personal property.

Hailey is being held in the Anson County Jail under a combined $730,500 secured bond and appeared in court on Feb. 2. His next scheduled court date is Feb. 23.

Hailey received a suspended sentence for felony breaking and entering in 2014.

STURDIVANT

Sturdivant was also accused of Heistand’s attempted murder, stealing the televisions and other property from the Wadesboro home and robbing the building in Morven.

She is charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, all felonies. She is also charged with misdemeanor causing injury to personal property.

Sturdivant is being held in the Anson County Jail under a combined $380,500 secured bond. She appeared in court on Feb. 2.

She received a suspended sentence in Union County in 2015 for assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

Officers also arrested Chaun Robinson of Polkton and charged him with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a press release from the Anson County Sheriff’s Office, but no court records or mug shots were immediately available.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

The Anson County Sheriff’s Office began the investigation along with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Lilesville Police Department.
