WADESBORO — Hundreds of people filled the Harvest Ministries auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 19, for a day filled with the Christmas spirit.
Special guests at their annual Community Christmas Blessing included Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch and the Abominable Snowman.
Each child received two toys. Some children and adults also left with new televisions, track phones and Charlotte Hornets tickets. Prize wheel giveaways included cash, gift cards and a grand prize worth over $700. Families also left with treat bags and gifts provided by Harvest’s PHK. Over $1,500 of prizes and giveaways were distributed throughout the course of the day.
Harvest Ministries would like to thank key sponsors: Commissioner Vancine Sturdivant and Toys for Tots; Poisson, Poisson & Bower Law Firm, Huntley Oil, the Express, Leavitt Funeral Home, Smith Funeral Home, the Ladybug Restaurant, CNM Auto, Anson High Class of 1995 in memory of Sean Harris, and the many who gave online. The true spirit of Christmas, and the love of Jesus Christ was on display!
“There is nothing better than seeing people come together, to show love, express love, and be a blessing to those who are in need, especially during this current COVID situation,” Lead Pastor Steve Adams said. “[Christmas Blessing] is an example of what we can do as a community.”
At the event, he discussed how Harvest started with his father’s vision 22 years ago, where people could come just as they are to a multiracial and multicultural church all about helping those who need it. Adams said they are still doing that today — wonderfully and faithfully serving the community.
Special thanks to the people of Harvest who make this event possible, Commissioner Sturdivant and Toys for Tots for the continued support and efforts to bless as many people as possible.
